Randy grew up around construction and has worked in every aspect of home building from construction to repair. He is a family man who studied home inspection under an apprenticeship with his brother in east Texas at the early stage of his home inspection career. Then, when he moved to Austin in 2003, he was ready to start his own company. That is when Barfield Home Inspection went from a dream to reality.

Randy and his team of home inspectors, Mike and Phil, all have philanthropic roots and a passion for helping others. Randy and Phil both worked for FEMA after the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana in 2005. Randy recalls fondly his time served as a contractor helping to inspect homes in the area. He would evaluate the damage done to homes and send these reports to FEMA so that homeowners could recover the damages. That is when he truly discovered the impact he makes with his services. Both Phil and Randy were able to save families from losing their homes with their work with FEMA. “It makes an average home inspection seem like a breeze,” said Mike.
